For the past couple of weeks I have been seriously debating if I wanted to take on this Blogmas venture again this year. I woke up this morning and the first thing I thought was “December…Christmas….Blogmas!” & here we are.
What you will find from my blogmas: Artsy fartsy holiday goodness, yummy in your tummy treats, fun and possible embarrassing stories and my classic photo dumps when I don’t know what to say.
What you will not find from my blogmas: Perfection, gift guides, makeup tutorials and fashion advice (unless it’s ugly sweaters of course)
To kick off Blogmas I am doing the classic and slightly cliche Christmas tag! If you would like to hop on the blogmas train or just want to share your Christmas favorites, please copy and paste these series of questions.
1. What is your favorite Christmas film?
A Charlie Brown Christmas makes my heart sing! I love the music, the adorable characters of Charlie Brown and the colors. I could also watch A Christmas Story over and over again. I would adopt Ralphie in a heartbeat.
2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?
I have only had one White Christmas which was in Rangely, Colorado. I grew up as a desert rat in the sunny southern western corner of Utah which created nonexistent White Christmases. It was however quite a surprise that there was no snow the year I lived in Vermont for Christmas, Vermonters were in a panic.
3. Where do you usually spend your holiday?
Growing up it was always at home in St. George, Utah with my family but in most recent years since graduating college I have been in a variety of places. Colorado, Vermont and Mexico.
4. What is your favorite Christmas song?
Worst question ever because how do I ever decide? If I have to go traditional I would say O Holy Night. HOWEVER, My inner hipster is currently screaming because I absolutely love indie and folk Christmas songs and covers.
5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
Always one gift. However, we rarely get to choose which gift to open because there’s always those golden Christmas Eve gifts such as pajamas, slippers or hot chocolate.
6. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?
To be honest, we never had holiday “traditions” growing up. Christmas was always slightly different each year. Although, I try to make an effort for driving around town looking at Christmas lights with hot chocolate in my hand and having a Christmas concert in the car, starring me.
7. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
I’ve never had a real tree nor do I think I will due to my fear of things blowing up into flames. I watch the news, I know what happens if you don’t have a green thumb.
8. What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?
Mexican Hot Chocolate with piles of whipped cream or marshmallows on top. Did I mention anything with marshmallows?
9. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
Giving! I love to see people smile. 🙂
11. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
I’m about to get super cheese on you. My holiday dream is a simple Christmas in a cabin with the love of my life in a cabin. Snow, fireplace, Christmas films and all.
12. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
Pro-ish. I have great ideas for aesthetically pleasing wrapping decorations but I have serious problems folding.
13. Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?
It’s fun to have a good idea what we want to accomplish in the New Year, however, I believe we should be setting goals and resolutions for ourself throughout the year and not just on January 1st.
14. What makes the holidays special for you?
Smiles, love, and fat pants with no judgment.
Stay Merry and Bright!
