This entire week I have felt extremely tired and not well, I don’t think I’d go as far as saying I’m sick. I just feel…yuck. 😦 I can’t tell if my body has been trying very hard to get sick because everyone else around me has been or the aftermath of me feeling stressed and some anxiety for my move in two weeks. Yesterday I decided to have a restful day to try and recover my body and mind. I will need it the next two weeks. I think days like this are important, at least once a month. You need it! Here are some things throughout the day that you might want to try on your next restful day.
One. Get out to get some fresh air and sunshine, even if it’s just for a little bit. It was a little cold but I was happy to run some errands the beginning of my day and go to a craft show where Ronnie was selling his pottery.
Two. Water is important. I am huge on adding goodies to my water, it does really great things for your body! This time I added lemon and mint which is super refreshing. When I’m trying to uplift my mood and mind I always stick with citrus flavors and candles around the home.
Three. If you haven’t figured out yet, I have a love of tea. If you are trying to relax you might want to stay away from caffeine. My first choice is always peppermint but I’m sadly out so I decided to go with my lemon and hibiscus tea.
Four. A healthy and light lunch sounded a lot better than something heavy. I went to Trader Joes and picked up some shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce and some seaweed snacks. If you haven’t tried seaweed snacks you are missing out, they are so addicting and healthy for you! I personally love the wasabi flavor. They are also gluten free and vegan if that interests you as well.
Five. Let your face rest too. Take off all of your makeup up and refresh your skin. I currently love these face wipes that I purchased from TJ Maxx, Beauty Concept’s Home Grown. Fresh Picked. Detoxifying Wipes. It smells like Pineapples and has Aloe and Vitamin C. They make me face feel so refreshed and lovely.
Six. Take a bath! I purchased a few bath bombs from the craft fair I went to. I have watermelon and birthday cake! The lady kindly gave me a free bath bomb as well because it broke in half, it was tangerine so I used that for my bath this time. Since it was cold outside a bath really helped to warm my body up.
Seven. Turn off social media and pull out a book. Reading is always important when you are trying to help your mind, even if it’s something small. Let go of any distractions around you, especially social media because there’s unfortunately too much negativity floating around there. You can’t let that clog up your brain, especially on days like today. I am currently reading a small creative inspirational book Change Your Mind. 57 Ways to Unlock Your Creative Self by Rod Judkins.
Eight. Take naps! It took me a long time to feel okay with taking frequent naps because I always feel guilty that I’m sleeping and not doing something productive. Sleep is good and important, especially if you’re tired!
